I'm excited to be co-hosting a screenprinting party tonight at Maker's Space, Enamel at 3123 Morganford Road in St. Louis. We'll be there from 5:30-8pm with ALIVE Magazine and Heartland;Underdog to raise awarness about Westminster Press, a local business created by two Washington University (my alma mater!) students.
Westminster Press is an up-and-coming St. Louis art space dedicated to promoting work made by artists of marginalized identities—women, the LGBT community and people of color. Their goal is to establish an art gallery, retail consignment storefront and printmaking studio to act as a site of community building and empowerment for minority artists in St. Louis and beyond. It's an easy idea to get behind and I'm sure after watching their Kickstarter video, you'll want to donate too. I'll definitely be posting more about founders Tucker Pierce and Grant Curry soon, but come see us tonight and meet them yourself.
Bring a T-shirt, canvas bag or really anything else flat and join us for a screenprinting party. Enjoy complimentary pizza, booze and sweets and mingle with local art influencers. Need more information? RSVP on Facebook here.
